Illustoria Issue 22: Invention
Illustoria is a print magazine designed for creative children and their parents, celebrating visual storytelling and DIY culture. Through a blend of stories, art, comics, interviews, crafts, and activities, Illustoria fosters imagination and creativity.
In The Invention Issue, the focus is on gadgets, inventions, and the creative thinking behind them. The journey starts with Taili Wu’s imaginative cover and continues through pages filled with clever survival tactics from nature, an exploration of the Risograph machine, and the story of a teenager who inadvertently changed fashion while doing chemistry homework. Layla Forrest-White, the guest poet, reflects on accidental inventions. The project section encourages readers to design fonts, create hairstyles, and draw robots, while young writers imagine life in a family of inventors.Â
